After a lot of thought I finally made the leap from a PC to MAC and I am mostly happy. Does it always "just work" NO but mostly it does. The wireless drops out often which never happens with my PC. It sometimes refuses to shut down and my printer which is only 1 year old will not work with it. I run windows with a virtual machine on it because some software is not mac compatible and at times the OS is just plain slow. All that being said I still have to admit that I like it very much. All these things are really minor and overall it is much more reliable and stable. The OS itself has never crashed after 2 months and is much easier to use. It's a lot lighter and quieter and just somehow more "fun". If you are thinking of making the switch I'd say go for it. (I still find myself trying to right-click though)

The latest in a long, excellent line!
I purchased this computer for my daughter to use for school. It replaced a MacBook from 2006, the older computer was still working fine, and we were able to sell that one to partially defray the cost of this new one. I have purchased many Mac portable computers over the last 15 years, and this one is the best one yet. My overriding review comment is that I have had no troubles with my Mac laptops (or desktops, for that matter) over the years, and I always look forward to replacing old devices with the latest that Apple has to offer. Exceedingly high quality, reliable and trouble free.

This was a great laptop - I liked it so much I sent it back! Why? Because the new and improved models came out for about the same price and 50% faster! I was running Windows 2000 on my old Dell Precision Workstation; that I purchased back in 2001. I had upgraded it as far as it would go (RAM wise). It was working OK; but I had been noticing that more and more software offerings, were not including W2K in their list of OS they were certified to work with. My dilemma; do I try and upgrade my existing computer to Windows XP or newer OS, or do I replace my machine??

I have had experiences in the past with trying to upgrade to a newer OS and all have had disastrous results!! I live on a very limited income, so a new machine was out of the question. Enter Amazon and their amazing deals!!

I found this refurbished machine, with a "fresh version" of Windows XP Professional; Service Pack 3 (meaning, no annoying garbage advertisement software that you get when you order a new machine from whomever and can never seem to totally get rid of!). It had everything I wanted, 2GB of RAM and a 250GB hard-drive. I think the motherboard speed must be a lot faster than the old machine. This one runs way faster than the old and I was able to move everything from the old to the new with a transfer program.

I would definitely recommend this vendor. The machine was very well packed and arrived very quickly. It did not come with a CD burner, so I wanted to take the one from my old machine and install in this one. The case on the replacement machine has a "rounded" trim piece on the front and I couldn't find one anywhere on the net, so I e-mailed the vendor to see if they knew where I could get one. Immediately they e-mailed me back to see if I could take a photo of what I was describing. I did and she e-mailed me back photos of what they had and told me they would ship it to me for free. Now that's excellent customer service!!

I am very pleased and satisfied with my purchase and 5 stars is not good enough to rate my experience!!!

I placed my order with Reverse Logistics Solutions on a Monday afternoon and received it Wednesday evening, complete as advertised, working perfectly and in perfect condition. I couldn't be happier with it. Actually, the system is even better than advertised in that contrary to what is shown in the picture of the back, PS/2 mouse and keyboard ports are also provided. Do be aware that the two USB in front are vertically mounted in a cramped space, an odd design choice rendering them useless for thumb drives, but that's only a minor annoyance since there are six easily accessible USB ports in back.

This is a fast, quiet, and capable computer --- a steal for the price. In addition to the features advertised, the unit unlatches and unfolds to an open position, making cleaning easy (dust being always the enemy of cool operation). The OS is Windows XP Professional, which allowed me to avoid the uncertainties of the new and unfamiliar (to me) Vista system. The unit was rather amateurishly packed. And no Windows disk was included, making it unclear to me as to how I might resolve an OS problem. If not for those issues, I would have given it five stars.

Great PC I think it works well
I purchased this PC as a replacement for a 10 year old Dell- it has worked out very well for going online and hooking up printers to it. The seller I bought from actually gave me a system with a larger hard drive which was a huge PLUS!!


great desktop for the price
This is the second Dell Optiplex that I have purchased in the last 12 months and I am very happy with both of them. They are fast, reliable, and easy to use. The windows Xp operating system that came pre-installed on both of them was a big factor in my purchase. The DVD burner is quick and I have yet to experience any problems with either of them. These are great desktops for the money.
