This was very easy to use and just what I was looking for to finish up a custom heat sink application.

Cool Silver Pad sticks slightly to metal surfaces on both sides for ease of application. It does not adhere to the release liners that are on both sides when packaged. To apply, peal off the bottom release liner (no tab) and apply the exposed pad to the CPU. Then smooth out the pad on the CPU by gently touching the top release liner with your finger to remove any air bubbles. Finally, remove the top release liner by pulling on the tab. Then install the CPU cooler. You can also trim the pad before installing with a sharp scissors on any edge, except for the tab edge, for a perfect fit. Cool Silver Pad is 1.5 x 1.5 inches square to accommodate all processor sizes and is 3 thousandth of an inch (3 mil) (0.0762 mm) thick. Unlike thermal paste and grease, Cool Silver Pad does not require measuring or smoothing. There is no guesswork with Cool Silver Pad, just performance!

Pentium 4 Heatsink And Fan for P4 Pga478

I just recieved my heatsink and fan today through amazon.com. So far I must say that I am impressed with it, as far as a heatsink and fan go. It is built solid, fits into my 478 socket perfectly, and plugged right in. It came with two clamps that hold the heatsink and fan in place, and it is seated firmly with nothing loose. The fan does look smaller than what I had expected, but the design is great and I don't forsee any problems with the smaller size. It covers the heatsink well enough for good circulation. This heatsink also comes with a packet of heat sink compound paste to apply to the processor - which I wish was more obvious on the product so I did not have to buy a seperate tube of this thinking it did not come with. Overall a good heatsink and fan, and for the price I can't imagine anything better.

Not as Good as OEM
The fan on this new unit is much smaller than the stock OEM processor fan that came with my computer. The aluminum heatsink is also slightly smaller than the stock unit so that the two, stock hold down clamps are loose. The only thing that is really holding the heatsink in place is the thermal compound stuck to my processor! Metal hold down clamps are provided in the package, but they are too small to fit. Perhaps they could be bent and made to fit.

Keeps it Cool
I have an Intel Core 2 Quad Processor which can get quite toasty. This grease helps keep it cool to around 45 degrees Celsius.

Good product!
Great by! Works as should and keeps the cpu running cool! No problems with heat!

Don't build a PC without it
This convenient plunger design works simply and cleanly. It's an effective product, and I would recommend using it on the CPU of ANY PC you build.
