I bought this wireless adapter so I did not have to run cable to our older upstairs desktop computer. I chose this adapter because of the USB cable and stand. Our USB ports are in the back is right against the wall so there is very little room. The USB ports in the front are very close to the floor, and I didn't want the adapter to get kicked or crushed. The cable and stand allow for the adapter to be right on the desk and the LED indicator is visible so we know its working.
Our computer has both Windows XP and Ubuntu 9.x installed. The XP installation took about five minutes, and the Belkin wireless management interface is a little clunky, but acceptable. For Ubuntu, I didn't have to do anything. When I booted into Ubuntu, the wireless icon showed I had a connection automatically. There was no need to hunt down drivers or install anything. Good job Ubuntu team!
Pros:
- No effort install for Ubuntu.
- Minimal effort install for Windows XP.
- Gets full 54g WEP connection.
- Three foot USB cable with stand allows movement of adapter for clear wireless signal, and visibility of adapter status indicator.
Cons:
- Larger than expected - I wouldn't use this with a laptop.
- LED indicator should be bigger - it's a little tiny dot.
- Belkin Wireless GUI could confuse less technical users.

A good product with setup issues - change channel of your DSL modem
I just installed my Belkin Mimo. I read most of the feedbacks on this product and was hesitant about the installation. The product did not work out of the box without an issue. First I tried to get it working using the Belkin software. It found my network but would not connect. I tried using Windows network software to get it working with the same results. I called Belkin tech support and they were helpful but unable to resolve my problem. I ended up calling my own ISP tech support who walked me through and helped me get the adapter working. The issue was the adapter is setup for channel 9 but my modem was setup at channel 6. My ISP tech support was able to walk me through the changes necessary to reconfigure my DSL modem to channel 9.
So if you adapter does not work the solution might be to change the channel on your DSL modem. This worked for me and the product is working great.

Superior reception
I bought this to replace my 18-month-old Netgear WG111T adapter, which had been overheating lately. The Belkin appealed to me in part because of the cradle-- better positioning for reception and was narrow enough not to block the adjacent USB port. When I got this running (5 minutes, like others say), I was shocked at how well it received signals from my Wifi router. In areas of my house where I had previously gotten an inconsistent 3 bars, I now had (the maximum of) 5. I moved further away from the router. In areas where the Netgear could not connect at all... I got 5 bars... with or without the cradle. Unbelievable.

does an ok job
I haven't had an issue yet with it. It does take quite awhile for the adapter to connect to the network upon starting the computer.

good product
Installed to desktop computer which is now on wireless uverse network for a fraction of the price of other options.
